Erika Portrait 2Erika Steller Yoga Bio

Erika began practicing yoga 17 years ago sampling numerous styles of yoga. In 2004 she was inspired to deepen her yoga practice and commitment after experiencing huge heath and lifestyle benefits through the Dru Yoga style. She made an unexpected decision to begin a life-changing 3 year Dru Yoga Teacher Training Diploma in 2007. Initially training for personal interest and to ‘keep herself on the yogic and spiritual path’, she set about teaching and sharing her love of yoga and its wisdom after completing her diploma in 2010. An interest in teaching yoga to children, and yoga for pregnancy has grown into a passion, alongside her own experiences of pregnancy and motherhood and nurturing resilient children with spark. With post graduate training in both kids and pre-natal yoga, and recent training specifically in the practice of Mindfulness, Erika currently teaches Dru Yoga Classes and Mindfulness classes (for adults), and Yoga and Mindfulness for Children classes in the northern suburbs of Wollongong. She teaches with both deep respect for the ancient yoga tradition and the pratices of mindfulness, as well as a sense of fun, joy and lightness.

Dru Yoga

Dru Yoga is a graceful and potent form of yoga, based on soft flowing movements, directed breathing and visualisation. With its foundations set firmly in the ancient yogic tradition, Dru works on body, mind and spirit – improving strength, flexibility and core stability; enhancing positivity; and deeply relaxing and rejuvenating the whole being. Dru Yoga is designed to be practiced by people of all abilities, fitness levels and age groups.

Mindfulness

Watch this space for information on Erika’s growing interest in and practice of Mindfulness, Mindfulness Training (Mindful Schools) and Mindfulness for children.

Dear Erika, I too love your site! First thing I noticed, besides the lovely background drawings and design, and then there’s your photos! Bring on more! All the best with your classes – you are an awesomely effective yoga teacher and your students (and bubs) are truly fortunate. Lots of love Jac

Hi dear Jac, thanks so much for your positive feedback about my website, and kind words about my teaching. I am enjoying attending my own Mums and Bubs class at the moment with baby Merrin with my friend and yoga teacher Loren teaching! I hope that all is very well with you, your yoga and teaching too 🙂 I look forward to seeing you and Greg up here later in the year for a Dru relaxation house concert! Great! Much love and best wishes to you, om shanti, Erika

Hi Eddy, thanks for your message. It was great to meet you at the first aid course a while back now. I hope that you are still enjoying Kiama and your parents are well. I hope you are also feeling nice and settled there – it IS so beautiful. I know it’s quite a way, but if you would like to try out my yoga classes on a Wednesday evening in Austinmer, you would be very welcome 😉 With best wishes, om shanti (peace), Erika
